And the soapbox comes out...

Does GTA: SA deserve the A-O rating, even though the content is drastically hidden?

Should Gamestop (among others) quit selling it?

That's a bit more of a quagmire...  Gamestop and Babbage's are both game retailers.  That's what they sell.  They sell kiddie games, and they sell mature games, and everything in between.  I think for them to not carry it now just because it has an A-O rating is a cop-out.

I need to process this a bit more.  Unfortunately, I can no longer go do research at the library, since the Government decided last night that monitoring everyone's library activity is a good thing for them to do.  And we all know that playing violent videogames is a training method for future terrorism, or at least shooting up the local High School.

Doesn't anyone read 1984 anymore?

Edit: I just checked, and to buy 535 copies each (100 Senators, 435 Representatives) of 1984 and Farenheit 451 through Amazon would be just short of $8,000. So, any ideas on how to set up a drive to assemble the money for that? If I were able to get the money to buy the books, I'd take time off work and deliver them myself.

Edit II: Okay, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and Brave New World, 545 Copies (100 Senators, 435 Representatives, 1 President, and 9 Supreme Court Justices) for $13,788.50. Wonder if the publishers would let me order just a whole case of each for less?
